METASTRA at ISSLS SASS 2026 in Cape Town

METASTRA at ISSLS SASS 2026 in Cape Town

The METASTRA project was represented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), held jointly with the South African Spine Society (SASS) in Cape Town, South Africa, from 11 to 15 May 2026.

Giovanni Barbanti Brodano and Florian Rieger attended the meeting on behalf of the consortium. Giovanni Barbanti Brodano presented the Train-METASTRA study, the European retrospective multicenter study in patients with vertebral metastases, bringing the project's clinical data collection work to one of the leading international gatherings in spine research.

The ISSLS annual meeting brings together researchers, clinicians, and surgeons from across the world to exchange findings in lumbar spine science, biomechanics, and clinical care.
