On World Health Day, METASTRA reaffirms its mission to bring precision to spinal cancer care

This World Health Day, we are thinking about the cancer patients whose lives are upended, not just by their diagnosis, but by what comes after.

For patients whose cancer has spread to the spine, the risk of a vertebral fracture is a constant shadow. Around 30% will experience one, and nearly 90% of those fractures will require surgery. Yet the tools clinicians rely on today are not patient-specific, leaving too much to guesswork at a moment when precision matters most.

That is the problem METASTRA is working to solve. We are developing an AI-powered Decision Support System that combines advanced biomechanical modelling with medical imaging to deliver accurate, personalised fracture risk assessments, before it is too late.

Because every patient deserves a treatment plan built around them.
